Providing credible health information about specific diseases and conditions in one easy to use app, in a clear, focused and organised manner, so that all members of society can access and understand.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The information contained in the RCSI MyHealth APP and third party websites is for information purposes only and is provided "as is" and "as available" and without warranties or conditions of any kind either express or implied. RCSI does not warrant or represent that the use or the results of the use of the materials and/or information available through third party websites will be correct, accurate, timely, reliable or otherwise. RCSI accepts no liability in relation to any of the above other than as may be provided for under your statutory rights.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, under no circumstances, including, but not limited to, negligence, shall RCSI be liable to you for any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages that result from the use of, or inability to use, the RCSI MyHealth APP, any changes to the APP, or for any of the above-mentioned damages that result from the use or inability to use the RCSI MyHealth APP.

Modification of Terms

RCSI reserves the right to change the terms of use or policies regarding the use of the APP at any time.

Laws

The terms of use shall be governed by and construed fully in accordance with the laws of Ireland. You and we agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Ireland. If any provision(s) of the terms of use is held by a court of competent jurisdiction to be contrary to law, then such provision(s) shall be construed, as nearly as possible, to reflect the intentions of the parties with the other provisions remaining in full force and effect.

Termination

RCSI may terminate the RCSI MyHealth APP with or without cause at any time and effective immediately.

Information collected about you

We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer the RCSI MyHealth App. Your IP address is used to gather broad demographic information to help us with the support and development of this app, but we cannot use this information to identify you personally. An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your end device when you use the internet.

We may collect Personally Identifiable Information about you which you may choose to enter such as age, height, weight, county, and blood group. This information is only used to provide further information on the query that you are submitting, and is not used by RCSI to identify you in any way, as the information that you voluntarily submit cannot be linked back to any individual.

We may collect non-personal information about you that cannot be used to identify you using tracking technology such as cookies which we use to collect anonymised, demographical data to statistically analyse usage of this app which will aid further development of this app to improve the end user’s experience. This aggregate, anonymised information may be used to publish research on the usage of the app and may also be shared with our charity partner, the Irish Cancer Society, to help them to identify how they can improve the health promotion of cancer related illnesses.

You may also choose to share details of this app with others by linking the app through your social media profile e.g. Facebook, Twitter etc. but by doing so you will not be sharing any information on the content that you have accessed, nor will this share any of the Personally Identifiable Information that you have input into the app.

By choosing to submit a review of the app on the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store, you can choose whether to identify yourself or not.

How do we secure your information?

RCSI is committed to complying with the Data Protection Acts 1988 & 2003 and has put adequate organisational and technical security measures in place to ensure your information is kept secure at all times.

Retention of information

Aggregate, anonymised information collected by this app will be kept for as long is required to ensure technical functioning and to support further development of the app and will be securely disposed of thereafter.

Acceptance of Privacy Policy

By using the RCSI MyHealth APP, you signify acceptance of this privacy statement. If you do not agree or are not comfortable with any policy described in this privacy statement, your only remedy is to discontinue use of the RCSI MyHealth APP. RCSI reserves the right to modify this privacy statement at any time. Your continued use of the RCSI MyHealth APP following notification or posting of such changes will constitute your acceptance of those changes.
